SAITM students handed over a memorandum today to JVP at the party headquarters at Pelawatte.
Students requested the JVP not to deprive them of the higher education opportunity.
JVP General Secretary Tilvin Silva and the staff warmly welcomed the students and listened to their requests and opinions. Silva said his party would only act for the defence of public education.
Co-convener of SAITM Students Committee Prageeth Wimalachandra said that their future was uncertain because of JVPs protests against Malabe Private Medical University.
Education SAITM students had for 7 years would be in vain if government takes a decision to suspend the University, Wimalachandra said. He requested Silva not to allow such inconvenience to happen.
