A stock of old weapons were discovered buried at a site near the Matale town by construction workers.

They stumbled upon the weapons while carrying out the foundation work for the construction of a new district secretariat building.

The weapons were inspected by the Matale Magistrate and were forwarded to analysis by the Government Analyst.
