In a gesture of recognition and appreciation, Sri Lanka Cricket has commenced the distribution of the long-anticipated US$50,000 award (LKR 16 million) promised during the Asia Cup to the dedicated ground staff of the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPICS) in Colombo and the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium (PICS) in Kandy.
The delay in distributing the promised funds had raised concerns among the hardworking ground staff, prompting Sri Lanka Cricket to take swift action to fulfill its commitment.
The first beneficiaries of this commendable initiative were the 138 members of the ground staff at RPICS, Colombo, who played pivotal roles in the success of the Asia Cup 2023, encompassing both permanent and contract employees. The rewards were distributed in acknowledgment of their tireless efforts and contributions to the seamless execution of the prestigious cricket tournament.
Addressing the concerns over the delay, Sri Lanka Cricket has affirmed its commitment to ensuring that all deserving individuals receive their well-earned rewards. In this regard, 115 members of the ground staff at PICS, Kandy, are scheduled to receive their rewards this Friday, further extending the appreciation to those who contributed to the success of the Asia Cup.
The distribution of the Asia Cup rewards not only honors the ground staff's hard work but also serves as a testament to the value placed on their contributions within the cricketing community.
