Sri Lanka Police revealed that the victim of Wednesday night's shooting in Ahungalle, identified as 54-year-old Keerthi Abrew, was the father of a drug trafficker operating out of Dubai.
The incident occurred around 7:50 PM when two assailants on a motorcycle arrived at a residence in the Lokanwatte area of Bogahapitiya, Ahungalle, and opened fire.
Abrew succumbed to his injuries upon arrival at the hospital.
Investigations into the motive behind the attack are ongoing.
