Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Team Captain, Chamari Athapaththu, has dismissed recent retirement speculations, stating it's not the appropriate moment to discuss her future in international cricket.

Addressing reporters upon the team's return to Sri Lanka from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier final in Abu Dhabi, Athapaththu emphasized she's yet to make a final decision.

Her stunning century in the qualifier match against Scotland secured Sri Lanka's spot in Group A of the ICC T20 Women’s World Cup 2024 .

Looking ahead, Athapaththu affirmed the team's commitment to performing well in the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup scheduled in Bangladesh from 3rd to 20th October.
