Inmate at Matara Prison Dies of Suspected Brain Fever

A 24-year-old inmate at Matara Prison has died of a suspected case of brain fever.
The inmate, who had been incarcerated for approximately three months, passed away last night while receiving treatment at Matara Hospital.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of death, which is believed to be brain fever. Another inmate at the prison is also undergoing medical treatment for similar symptoms.

This incident follows several cases of brain fever reported at Matara Prison last December, which resulted in multiple inmate deaths. Prison officials are on high alert and are taking measures to prevent further spread of the illness.
