A derailment between Pothuhera and Kurunegala railway stations has caused  delays on the main line. The incident occurred when an office train traveling from Kurunegala to Colombo derailed, disrupting services and stranding numerous passengers.

Emergency crews are on site working to clear the tracks and restore normal service.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the derailment. Passengers are advised to seek alternative transportation or expect extended travel times.
