Viranjith Thambugala, Chairman of Aura Lanka Group of Companies, was arrested by police on charges of financial fraud.
Thambugala appeared before the Colombo Magistrate’s Court today and was remanded until May 27. His business ventures have been under investigation by authorities, and he was previously cleared of charges concerning unauthorized entry into Anuradhapura Prison.
