The Meteorology Department has issued a forecast indicating that most parts of the island will experience showers or thundershowers during the afternoon and night. Fairly heavy rainfall, exceeding 50 mm, is anticipated in several areas of the Eastern, Central, and North-central provinces.

Coastal regions in the Southern and Western provinces may see some morning showers.
