The Election Commission plans to draw lots for allocating airtime for political broadcasts in the upcoming 2024 Parliamentary Elections.

Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake said that all recognized political parties and independent groups that have submitted valid nomination papers will receive airtime for their broadcasts.

The lot drawing will occur tomorrow at the Colombo District Secretariat. Ratnayake emphasized that only the secretaries of recognized political parties or their authorized representatives, as well as leaders of independent groups who have submitted valid nominations, will be eligible to participate in the process.
