Former State Minister Lohan Ratwatte, who had been receiving treatment at the Prison Hospital, has been transferred to Colombo General Hospital after falling ill, Spokesperson for the Department of Prisons announced.
The spokesman stated that Ratwatte was moved to the hospital last night (2 November) due to an unexpected health condition.
Ratwatte, who was arrested and remanded for allegedly using a luxury car illegally imported and assembled in Sri Lanka, was initially admitted to the prison hospital with permission from the Nugegoda Acting Magistrate on Saturday.
He was taken into custody by Mirihana Police on 31 October in Katugastota, Kandy, following the discovery of an unregistered car at his wife’s residence in Mirihana, Nugegoda.
