A pillion rider was killed in a tragic accident on November 15 when the Udaya Devi Express Train, traveling from Batticaloa to Colombo Fort, collided with a motorcycle at Bellankadawala in the Habarana Police Division.

The deceased, a 69-year-old man from Kinihirigama, Kekirawa, was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle rider, who suffered serious injuries, was rushed to Dambulla Base Hospital for treatment.
