The Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court has ordered the remand of four protesters arrested during a violent demonstration outside the Education Ministry at Isurupaya until 10 December.

The protest, which called for the integration of Development Officers into the Teachers’ Service, escalated into a clash, leaving multiple individuals injured. Two Development Officers sustained injuries and were admitted to the National Hospital Colombo for treatment.

The confrontation also injured a Sub-Inspector and two constables, with one officer requiring intensive care.
