Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardana has stated that common candidate of the opposition is a puppet controlled by several unseen hands, and has also named these ‘puppet masters.’
Speaking at a meeting recently, he said that one can easily see how a puppet moves but cannot see the hands pulling the strings of it. Similarly, the unseen hands pulling the strings of Maithripala Sirisena cannot be seen, he stated.
Abeygunawardana further mentioned that these hands include UNP National Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe, former president Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and even LTTE sympathizers.
Meanwhile, Cabinet Spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella has said that President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s election ampaign will officially begin after handing over the nominations. Speaking to a private radio channel, he has said that the president was always ready for an election as he has constantly strived to develop the country.
“We have enough slogans” he added.
