Western Provincial Council member Hirunika Premachandra has said that she has discussed about the shortcomings of the present government with President Maithripala Sirisena.
Speaking to a radio talk show last night, Premachandra said that unlike the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the current president listens to her comments and has looked into the issues.
She has also spoken about the drugs business that is taking place especially in her electorate, Kolonnawa. She said that the police was scared to crack down of the menace before since the UPFA Organizer of the electorate abetted the wrongdoers.
However, Premachandra said that this inaction only discredited the police. She has also said that the police can now take action as the new government promotes good governance.
