General Secretary of Bodu Bala Sena Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera arrived in the island last night from Tokyo, and is now at the Kurunduwatta Police Station, BBS CEO Dilanthe Withanage told Asian Mirror.

A statement is being recorded from Gnanasara Thera, but he has not been arrested as of now, Withanage also said.

On April 24, Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera and 26 others were summoned to the Colombo Magistrate Courts on charges of contempt of court after they had taken part in a protest near the Bribery Commission, defying a court order.

Gnanasara Thera failed to appear in person at the court on May 8, which led the Colombo Magistrate to issue a warrant for his arrest.
