Former UPFA MP and Left Democratic Front leader Vasudeva Nanayakkara stated that they finished their revolution led by Mahinda Rajapaksa to liberate Maithreepala Sirisena from UNP grip.

He made this comment speaking at the press conference currently taking place at Abhayarama Temple, following the announcement that former president Mahinda Rajapaksa will be given nominations from the UPFA to contest the upcoming general election.

Meanwhile, National Freedom Front leader Wimal Weerawansa said that a Maithri-Mahinda government will be formed on August 17.

Vasudeva Nanayakkara, Dinesh Gunawardena, Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila led the initial movement to bring back former president Mahinda Rajapaksa to politics.
