Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is likely to contest from the Ratnapura District in the forthcoming general election, former UPFA MP Pavithra Wanniarachchi stated.

 

Updating a statement on her Official Facebook Page, Wanniarachchi said that she insisted Rajapaksa to contest from Ratnapura District during the meeting yesterday at Rajapaksa's residence in Mirihana. He finally agreed to Wanniarachchi's repeated requests, she stated.

 

Wanniarachchi also said that she will put forward this proposal to SLFP District Organization meeting today.
