If Maithripala Sirisena agreed to grant nomination from the UPFA to Mahinda Rajapaksa, it will be the greatest betrayal of a leader of the country since independence, Purawasi Balaya Convener Gamini Viyangoda stated.

 

Speaking to Asian Mirror, Viyangoda said that Maithripala Sirisena must come out openly and state if he approved giving nomination to Rajapaksa. His silence implies that he is in agreement, Viyangoda said. However, he pointed out that it is still not late for Sirisena to reveal the truth to the public.
