Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa stated that he will form a government in the near future.
Speaking at a meeting with Samurdhi Officers yesterday, Rajapaksa said that the Samurdhi Officers received benefit only from his government. However, they will receive benefits once again since he will form a new government soon, Rajapaksa said.
Meanwhile, Rajapaksa said that officials who had worked with good intention are being questioned and imprisoned. Independence of the judiciary is also being threatened by the government, he said.
Rajapaksa was recently granted nomination to contest from the UPFA, ending weeks of speculation.
