Justice Sarath de Abrew, who today surrendered to the Mt. Lavinia Magistrate Court in connection with an alleged assault of his domestic helper, was released on a personal bail of Rs.500,000.
He was also asked to give a statement to the CID in connection with the incident.

A housemaid who was employed in Abrew's house lodged a complaint recently alleging that he assaulted her. She was admitted to Kalubowila Hospital following the alleged attack.
