JVP Politburo Member K.D. Lalkantha stated that the UNP and the SLFP are promoting an idea of national government, since both parties are not able to form a government on their own.
Taking part in an interview on 'Swarnawahini' this morning, Lalkantha said that there was hardly any difference between the UNP and the SLFP.
The JVP was not interested in a national government, Lalkantha said, adding that the objective of the JVP is to strengthen the opposition within the parliament.
Furthermore, Lalkantha also pointed out that the JVP is fighting for the people both within the parliament and outside it. The struggle outside the parliament is considerably strong, he maintained.
