Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was spotted at the Opposition Leader's Office, in Colombo 07, a short while ago, multiple sources confirmed.

After Rajapaksa was spotted at the Opposition Leader's Office, there were rumours among political circles that he had secretly signed nomination papers.

The Opposition Leaders Office was a hive of activity this morning due to signing of nomination papers. Party seniors and candidates also visited the Opposition Leader's Office since morning.

Meanwhile. Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva addressing a meeting in Uva-Paranagama this morning said the former President Rajapaksa would contest from the Kurunegala district and he would sign the nomination papers on July 10.
