Frontline socialist Party Politburo Member Duminda Nagamuwa slammed the JVP for paving way for the establishment of a UNP government indirectly.

Speaking at the inaugural general election rally of the FLSP in Maharagama, Nagamuwa said that the JVP is using slogans which are similar to those of the UNP or serves the interests of the UNP.

He also pointed out that the JVP stood up for what the UNP represented in parliament, especially in the recent months.

The two parties stood on the same side on many important parliamentary Acts, Nagamuwa pointed out.

Hence, the JVP cannot be described as a true party of the left, he argued further.
