Former UPFA MPs who support Mahinda Rajapaksa met last night, following the announcement that Rajapaksa was given nomination from UPFA. The meeting reportedly took place at Western Province Chief Minister Presanna Ranatunga's residence.

Sri Lanka’s batting phenomenon Kumar Sangakkara on Saturday (27) officially announced that he will retire from international test cricket arena after second test match against India at home.
"I am going to miss playing for Sri Lanka a lot," he said during the media conference held to announce the retirement.
"I had the time of my life playing for Sri Lanka. I enjoyed playing every format and donning whites for Sri Lanka has been special. I can walk away happy that good days outweigh the disappointments.", Sangakkara asserted.
