The ongoing dengue outbreak has led to a significant increase in the number of children seeking treatment at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children, Hospital Director Dr. Pradeep Rathnasekara said.
Dr. Rathnasekara stressed that the cooperation of parents and guardians is essential to ensure children receive prompt and efficient medical treatment amid the surge in patient admissions.
Accordingly, the hospital has requested parents and guardians to bring the following documents whenever children are brought to the hospital for treatment or clinic visits:
- Personal Health Number (PHN) or barcode card
- Child Health Development Record Book or weight record book
- Records of any drug or food allergies
- Clinic record books
- Hospital discharge cards or diagnosis cards
