The Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs has decided to restore police security at the historic Kurundi Rajamaha Viharaya in Mullaitivu.

The decision follows a written request by the temple’s Chief Incumbent, Ven. Galgamuwe Santabodhi Thera, seeking the reinstatement of the police protection previously withdrawn from the premises.

Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi has reportedly informed the Chief Incumbent that prompt action will be taken to provide the necessary police security to the temple.
