Tusker Agbo has been found in the Nachchaduwa reservoir following a joint search operation by the Sri Lanka Army and wildlife officers today (19).
The search resumed at around 7.15 a.m. with 50 Army personnel from the 21 Infantry Division, following reports that Agbo had moved from the Eruwewa area towards the reservoir yesterday (18).
An Army drone and two Air Force drones were also scheduled to assist the search.
Wildlife officials said a closer examination was needed to determine whether the tusker had sustained any injuries. A special wildlife team led by Buddhika Athukorala of the Thirappane Wildlife Beat Office also assisted the operation.
