Unrest has erupted at the Pallansena Open-Air Correctional Centre for young offenders in Negombo, with a group of inmates reportedly climbing onto the roof of a building within the facility.
Residents in the surrounding area told Asian Mirror that they could hear inmates shouting and commotion from inside the correctional centre.
