Parliament Member Resigns

Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) National List MP M.S. Abdul Wahid has resigned from Parliament.

Acting Secretary-General of Parliament Hansa Abeyratne informed the Election Commission that the resignation would take effect from today (14).

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Election Commission has been notified of the resulting vacancy in the 10th Parliament under Section 64(5) of the Parliamentary Elections Act No. 1 of 1981.
