Shiranthi Rajapaksa, the wife of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, did not appear before the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) on Thursday (24) to give a statement in connection with an investigation into Siriliya Saviya, a senior police officer said.
The officer said her representatives had informed police that she could not attend because she was in Singapore receiving medical treatment.
Rajapaksa left for Singapore on 16 September. Police notified her at the airport that she was required to appear before the FCID, the officer said.
