Hayleys Mobility Limited has launched the all-new JAECOO J5 HEV, expanding its portfolio of hybrid sport utility vehicles (SUVs) in Sri Lanka amid growing demand for new-energy vehicles.

The JAECOO J5 HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre Turbo GDI engine paired with an electric motor and a Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT), delivering a combined output of 221 horsepower and 295 Nm of torque. The vehicle accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

According to the company, the hybrid SUV offers fuel efficiency of 18.9 kilometres per litre and a driving range of more than 950 kilometres on a full tank.

The vehicle features a premium exterior design, LED lighting, and a technology-focused interior equipped with advanced safety and driver-assistance features.

Commenting on the launch, Hayleys Fentons Managing Director Hasith Prematillake said the introduction of the JAECOO J5 HEV reflected the company’s commitment to bringing innovative mobility solutions to Sri Lanka.

“As demand grows for vehicles that deliver both performance and efficiency, the JAECOO J5 HEV stands out as a compelling option for customers seeking a smarter and more refined driving experience,” he said.

Hayleys Mobility Executive Director Roshani Dharmaratne said the vehicle had been positioned to meet the needs of modern Sri Lankan drivers by combining performance, efficiency, and practicality, while being supported by the company’s after-sales service network.

Hayleys Mobility Chief Executive Officer Rajieve Fernando said the JAECOO J5 HEV was backed by a seven-year vehicle warranty and an eight-year battery warranty, offering customers added confidence and peace of mind.

Priced at Rs. 19.9 million, the JAECOO J5 HEV is available through Hayleys Mobility showrooms, including the OMODA & JAECOO flagship store in Colombo.

To mark the launch, the company announced a special introductory offer under which the first 100 customers will receive a discount of Rs. 1 million.
