A house in Walgama, Matara came under a gun fire attack by two individuals who came on a motorcycle on Saturday (01) night.

However the attack did not cause any casualties. But the doors, windows of the house were damaged, Police Spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunaseka told.

The owner of house and eight other people had stayed inside the house when the incident occur. Moreover the owner’s son who works at the Bribery Commission was not there at that moment, ASP Gunasekata said.

Owner of the house told media that on July 25 a group of people came and threatened them. They lodged a complaint with the police about it, the owner asserted.

Reason behind the attack was not yet identified. Several police groups are conducting further investigations on the incident.
