The 25th anniversary of the Kattankudy Mosque Massacre was held this morning at Kattankudy.

 

Special prayers and other activities were held to remember more than 100 people who died on August 3, 1990, when the LTTE launched a nightly attack on several mosques in Kattankudy.

 

The LTTE denied the responsibility of the attack although it was attributed to the outfit. Around 30 LTTE cadres reportedly took part in the attack.
