The construction of the Colombo-Kandy Expressway was inaugurated this morning by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at Kadawatha.

 

The Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, UNP General Secretary Kabir Hashim and Eran Wickremeratne were among the other participants.

 

The first stage of the Expressway will be constructed from Kadawatha to Meerigama. The next two stages are from Meerigama to Kurunegala and from Kurunegala to Kandy. The total distance is 98km.
