The independent group formed by some rehabilitated former LTTE cadres to contest the general election in Jaffna District released its manifesto today.
The leader of the group, N. Vithyatharan said that they wanted to release the manifesto at the Sudumalai area, where the slain LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran addressed a huge public rally following the Indo-Lanka Accord of 1987. However, since the police did not allow them to hold the event at the site, they used a nearby place.
Vithyatharan said that it was important to give solutions to the Tamil people's problems based on Rajiv-Jayawardene Indo-Lanka Accord, Oslo agreements and Thimpu discussions.
An environment should be created where all communities could live in peace, Vithyatharan also said.
