Uva Province Chief Minister Harin Fernando asked SLFP Spokesman Dilan Perera to take poison on August 18 once the UPFA is defeated at the general election.

He said this in response to Dilan Perera's comments yesterday, asking the Prime Minister and four others to take poison.

Fernando claimed that Dilan Perera had attempted to drink poison on three occasions. "I have two gallons of Polidol here with me and I invite Mr. Perera to drink it on August 18,” Fernando also said.

Speaking at a UPFA press conference yesterday, Perera said that Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera had once said that those who robs public money has to take poison. He called the members of the government to take poison as they have robbed public funds continuously.
