Former President and UPFA Kurunegala District candidate Mahinda Rajapaksa on Thursday questioned as to why the ‘good – governance government’ has failed to find those who are responsible for the death of former Sunday Leader Editor Lasantha Wickrematunge.

 

Speaking with ‘BBC Sandeshaya’, Rajapaksa pointed out that Prime Minister Ranli Wickremasinghe had accused several people on stages regarding Wickrematunge’s murder. However, Wickremesinghe’s government could not launch any investigation on the matter, Rajapaksa added.

 

Rajapaksa asked as to why Wickremasinghe hesitates to take action against those who were responsible for Wickremetunge’s murder if he knows their identities. “Is it because the responsible ones are attached to his government?” Rajapaksa questioned.
