The Colombo District Court today further extended an enjoining order, staying the convening of Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Committee meetings without prior approval of the party Chairman President Maithripala Sirisena until August 24.

 

The District Court issued this order initially on July 15 following a petition by Prasanna Solangaarachchi.

 

The events developed following the convening of SLFP Central Committee by its General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa on July 15. The president cancelled the meeting within hours.
