Dissanayake Says UPFA Must Act Against Those Who Spread Rumors

Anuradhapura District UPFA candidate Duminda Dissanayake said that disciplinary action should be taken against those who are spreading false rumors on the party from within.

Speaking at a recent meeting in Anuradhapura, he said that there were some members of the UPFA who make false allegations about him. Rumors were being circulated that he will join the UNP after the election, he pointed out.

Dissanayake said that this claim has the implication that the UPFA will lose the election. He pointed out that there will be no need to join the UNP if the UPFA can win 113 seats. The UPFA should aim to win the election, rather than paying attention to false rumors, he also said.

Dissanayake further stated that these rumors have a negative impact on the party. Therefore, those who spread such rumors should be penalized for the sake of the party, he insisted.
