People's Action for Free and Fair Elections (PAFFREL) Executive Director Rohana Hettiarachchi revealed today that both the governing UNP and the main opposition UPFA are accused of around the same number of election law violations.

 

Speaking to the media today he said that there were 392 incidents reported against the UNP and 376 against the UPFA. Meanwhile there were 34 complaints against the JVP and 29 against other parties, he added.

 

Meanwhile, the UNP was the victim of 62 instances and the UPFA was the victim of 45 instances of election related incidents, Hettiarachchi said. The JVP was victimized in eight incidents and other parties were victimized in 10 incidents, he added.
