The General Secretaries of the UNP and the SLFP signed a Memorandum of Understanding on forming a national government.

The event took place at the Presidential Secretariat immediately after Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe took oaths.

The General Secretary of UNP Kabir Hashim and the General Secretary of the SLFP acting Duminda Dissanayake signed the MoU on behalf of the two parties.
