Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya issued notice on former Minister Mervyn Silva to appear before court on November 11 as a witness in a Habeas Corpus petition filed by relatives of three missing persons.

 

The petitioners requested that Silva be called as a witness since he had claimed to have information on the 'white van abductions.'

 

Mervyn Silva filed a complaint in January this year at the CID, claiming that former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa was responsible for the white van incidents.
