Both the LTTE and Sri Lankan security forces were responsible for disappearances of several people in Kaluwanchikudy and Vellaveli during the war, the Presidential Commission Investigating Cases of Missing Persons was told by relatives of the missing.
The relatives of the missing persons made these claims during the public hearing sessions conducted by the commission.
The hearings were held at the Divisional Secretary Offices of Valachchena and Kaluwanchikudy for two days.
It was reported that 701 were called by the commission to obtain statements on missing relatives.
