Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai arrived in Sri Lanka to take part in the 2015 Defence Seminar.

 

He arrived at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport a short while ago.

 

The Defence Seminar will take place on September 1 and 2 under the theme ‘National Security in the context of Emerging Global Threats’

 

Karzai was elected President in 2004 in the first free election in Afghanistan following the ouster of the Taliban regime in the country. He served as the President of Afghanistan from 2004 until 2014.
