Former Test cricketer Avishka Gunawardene was appointed as Assistant Coach of Sri Lanka U-19 Cricket team, Sri Lanka Cricket said in a media release.

Gunawardene will serve in this capacity until the 2016 U-19 World Cup, the release further said.

Avishka Gunawardena entered the Sri Lanka national team in 1998 and played for 61 ODIs and six Test matches.
