Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will be meeting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hold bilateral talks.
Wickremesinghe, who is on his first overseas trip after assuming the top office for the fourth term, is expected to hold extensive talks with the Indian leadership on various issues including the sensitive fishermen issue, Indian media said.
Sri Lanka's new government has improved the Indo-Lanka friendship, with President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera choosing India for their first official visits after the January 8 Presidential Election. PM Modi visited Sri Lanka this March.
