The second unit of the Lakvijaya coal power plant has not broken down says the China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC).  Irrespective of media reports that this was another in a series of mishaps at the Norochcholai coal fire power plant, the CMEC categorically states that this was a scheduled shut down.  During the scheduled shut down there was some servicing done to the boiler, which was completed within half a day.

CMEC also says that a few weeks ago, CEB and CMEC both agreed to shut down the Power Plant after the Reliable Test Run (RTR). The power plant is now running at full capacity.
