The tug of war between the National Freedom Front and the SLFP has taken a new turn with Wimal Weerawansa's party accusing the SLFP of violating the agreement which was signed between the two parties in 2010.
The National Freedom Front says the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has violated the UPFA agreement by allowing Udaya Kumara to join the SLFP while there is an ongoing inquiry against him in the National Freedom Front.
A NFF stalwart told Asian Mirror that the SLFP did not inform his party of any such crossover. "This move is highly unethical and strongly contravenes the agreement between the two parties," he said.
The NFF says that it would lodge a formal complaint with the President over the matter and demand immediate action against SLFP leaders who allowed the NFF member to join the SLFP.
The National Freedom Front entered into an agreement with the Sri Lanka Freedom Party in 2010 just before the General Election.
