Ranil & Ravi pays visit to Umandawa together

President Ranil Wickremesinghe and UNP Assistant leader Ravi Karunanayake visited the Umandawa Global Buddhist Village recently, an initiative of Siri Samantha Badra Thera. The President visited the site during his recent tour in Kurunegala where he also met the Bishop of Kurunegala. 

Following the visit, the Umandawa Global Buddhist Village released the below message :

“Today on 2 October, The president of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, Ranil Wickramasinghe, paid a visit to observe the Umandawa Global Buddhist Village and its programs.

According to the concept of the Umandawa Global Buddhist Village, matters were discussed to establish an international agriculture University and initiate two more villages like Umandawa in the North and South of the country.

For the ongoing economic crisis in the country, matters to uplift agricultural and export industries were also discussed.

Former Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake also joined President Ranil 

Wickramasinghe on the visit.”
